Hey man.
I work in IT too; a guy at my job just got his CCIE. I hope you did too, you've been inactive for a few months, I'm guessing you're done studying or something.

i did all configuration mentioned above but couldn't get mac addresses snmp traps. i use kiwi syslog and it receives some traps but i can't read what mac addresses added or deleted. i mean messages are too complex. you can see it from the link:

http://img4.imageshack.us/my.php?image=47488292.jpg

when we write on cisco switch the command "show mac-address-table notification, it displays a "Operation: Added Vlan: 28 MAC Addr: 0060.7015.ac7a Dot1dBasePort: 24" something like that and what i want is to see this notification in my Kiwi or another software you suggest that can receive traps readable way.

After some more research .... I confirm, that pings to the group address from a spoke go succeed for a while then fail. If u wait a while, they succeed the fail .. in that cycle.

The failure occur when receivers switch from shared tree to source tree. I fixed this by ip pim spt-threshold infinity so receivers always remain on shared tree. Then the pings work consistently

Something is curious here .... been cracking my brain on this ... if u ping from R1, then what should be ur incoming interface on R2? ... I think s0/0 but then s0/0 can't be in both incoming interface and out too ... which is where my problem lies.

Can you please explain me the flow of packet when you initiate the ping from R1 to 55.55.55.5.

Ok since the packet would be coming on Fa0/0 and the interface being configured as ip nat inside, so the source ip would be natted to 44.44.44.1 which i can see in the debug capture.

So now the SA:44.44.44.1 and DA: 55.55.55.5

This packet would now be routed through serial interface configured to be ip nat outside.

This where i do not understand how does the DA is natted to 10.0.0.5

My understanding is ip nat outside translate the source address.

So is there NAT configured on R5

Can you please explain this to me..

thanks in advance
