Enhanced Object Tracking – Boolean Operator

August 21, 2008 at 5:38 pm | Posted in IOS services | Leave a comment

Object tracking can support boolean operators (and / or), to enable us to create a complex tracking object for a complex tracking task.

Scenario example:

Configure the router in such a way that if is not reachable, AND route is lost, the router should change HSRP status from active to standby.

ip sla monitor 50
type pathEcho protocol ipIcmpEcho source-ipaddr
timeout 200
frequency 3
ip sla monitor schedule 50 start-time now

track 50 rtr 50

track 100 ip route reachability

track 200 list boolean or
object 50
object 100

interface FastEthernet0/0
ip address
speed 100
standby 1 ip
standby 1 priority 110
standby 1 preempt
standby 1 track 200 decrement 50
